ABOUT YOU

To be hired into this role, you must have:
Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed

ABOUT THE JOB

This is RPN - Rehab position. In this role, you would:
Know and understand the principles of rehab programs - e.g. ambulation, mobility, communication, fall prevention, dining, ADLs, Active ROM.
Assist/lead in the development of the nursing rehab program and resident specific care plans
To provide in-service sessions and training in all rehab programs
Supervise the implementation of nursing rehab programs

Long Term Care is a unique experience, when you come to work you are coming into a Resident's home. Your feedback and input is used to improve our daily practices, and your energy goes a long way to putting smiles on our Residents' faces. If you were working for us as an RPN, here are some of the things you would have done last week:
Met with a new Resident and done a comprehensive assessment
Worked with a multidisciplinary team comprising of dietary personnel, Nurse Practitioners, Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, among others to help assess the new Resident
Lead the collaboration of the multidisciplinary team to determine the appropriate treatment, prevent deterioration, and manage pain for the Resident
Earned a gift card to your favorite restaurant from our rewards program, after taking initiative to complete extra training/learning
Provided health teaching for the Resident, their family, PSWs, and others on your team
Drove and supported care goals for other residents in your unit
Provided supervision and coaching on clinical skills for your teammates
Applied your understanding of complex wound care beyond just changing dressings, but also assessed and altered the care program to meet your Resident's needs
And supported your team as needed.
