The primary objective of the Telecom Network Operations Center is to monitor, manage & support CN networks & Network carried services with a goal to offer optimum Network availability to our internal & external customers.

The Candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the IT field. Its primary responsibility would be to support the CN IT Telecom's Core Network. Excellent knowledge of the following environment's is a must: Fibre optic, MPLS & Microwave technologies. The position also requires the ability and skills to troubleshoot, isolate & resolve incidents. The selected candidate must be a resident of the great Montreal Metropolitan.

Description:

Shift work 7/24 (Rotating 12 hrs shift work include days, evenings/nights & week ends.)
Provide level 1 & level 2 Incident solving support on all Telecom services.
Track, follow up, coordinates work activities regarding Telecom incidents.
Provide technical expertise to CN Field Technicians.
Manage CN IT Telecom trouble tickets.
Event Management of CN Core Transport Network.
Manage and coordinate CN Fiber restoration and maintenance activities.
Oncall pager duty (rotation)

Skill set :

Hands on experience of telecommunications hardware and management platforms

Experience with telecom configuration, management and monitoring

Knowledge of the common sources of trouble in telecommunications equipment and lines

NRS I / Nokia Network Routing Specialist or CCNA or equivalent
Bilingual Candidate (English & French) is an asset.

Technical experience in the field of telecommunications (3 years)

Experience in a NOC (Network Operation Center) 7/24 environment is an asset

Knowledge Organisational & process framework (ITIL) is an asset

Experience in the different activities associated to fiber optic management

Knowledge in Facility management ( Power plant, HVAC, Telemetry) is an asset

Experience working in a large IT organization

The Telecom Operation team is required to be familiar with the

Ethernet, TCP/IP and related protocols
IS-IS , BGP routing protocs
TDM (Time-division multiplexing)
SHDSL (Single-pair high-speed digital subscriber line)
Microwave Alcatel (Alcatel MPR9500)
MPLS Alcatel (7750,7705)
CWDM/DWDM (Optelian, CIENA 6500)
Data radio Point to Point and Point to multipoint (Cambium, Redlines)
AC and DC Power Systems / HVAC
