What You'll Do
Seeking a Control Systems Engineer within the Electrical Engineering & Controls team. Your role will involve:
Designing and implementing PLC based controls systems for industrial equipment
Configuring PLC hardware and programs (Ladder, Structured Text, Function Blocks)
Developing PLC Code
Assisting in the development of equipment motor and device lists
Understanding safety risk assessments and design
Assisting design engineers with electrical drive and PLC panel design
Developing HMI architecture
Installing HMI hardware and software
Setting up I/O Drivers
Developing databases and screens
Participating in field commissioning and troubleshooting equipment
This position is based out of our head office in Burlington or remotely with a requirement to travel internationally on a consistent basis.
What You Offer
Engineering or related Degree
Minimum 7 years of hands-on controls development and commissioning experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with industrial robots, process controls, instrumentation, and Functional Safety (TUV) design/validation is a plus
Demonstrated familiarity with Rockwell Software (ControlLogix, RSLinx, FTView), Siemens (Step7 v5.5, TIA Portal, WinCC), Invensys Wonderware/Archestra, GE iFix, Ignition
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize are essential to meet tight deadlines
Can work independently with ease and be a contributing member of a team
Target Compensation and Travel Info.
Highly dependent on candidate, base up to $130,000, but can be negotiable.
Discretionary bonus - Eligible
Travel pay - Eligible

RRSP with employer match
30% Travel - both within North America and International, well-compensated
Preference for candidates based within the GTA, but will consider out of area/province. Must reside within reasonable driving distance of an international airport & be free to travel to the USA and out of country for work (Canadian or commonwealth Passport required).
