APPLICATIONS SERVICE MANAGER

Parian Logistics provides corporate shared support services and third-party logistics to a group of affiliated Canadian retailers, including Urban Barn, Auld Phillips, Warehouse One, Ricki's, Bootlegger, and cleo. Parian Logistics' corporate support services include accounting and finance, logistics and distribution, digital marketing, customer service, information technology, real estate and store construction services.

The Applications Service Manager (ASM) is operationally responsible for one or more software applications within the Parian applications portfolio. The ASM is a primary interface between IT and the applications' business users in an operational context. Their focus is on the reliable maintenance and operation of applications including defect fixes, enhancements, support, upgrades, change and release management.

What you'll be a part of
Manage the issue and feature request intake process from internal business stakeholders, application users and IT
Manage IT applications team members who will be matrixed across products and projects including coaching and performance management
Work with product owners and other stakeholders to prioritize work backlogs
Responsible for delivery of product features, changes and fixes using appropriate delivery methodology
Responsible for managing all incidents and service requests related to applications
Assign tasks from the backlog to technical staff and/or partners and manage delivery
Manage service partner budgets and IT team member hours allotments to ensure efficient use of resources
Contribute to resource demand management, planning and assignment
Develop, define, measure and own IT services for applications
Work with their team and other IT leaders to continually improve service metrics like throughput, cost and customer satisfaction
Build and provide product expertise within areas of responsibility
Use ITSM change management processes to manage change to production systems
Consult and gather business needs from stakeholders related to changes in the application and/or coordinate requirements gathering with IT Business Analysts
Contribute product expertise to the development of project charters, business requirements, solution design and quality on projects
Work with Project Teams to help manage the release schedule, various environments and to transition operational support for major new enhancements and functionality
Act as the primary point of operational contact for software and services vendors related to applications within the portfolio
Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure that architecture diagrams and technical standards are developed and maintained

What you bring
Education: Batchelor's degree in IT Management, Computer Science or equivalent mix of training and experience
3+ years of experience in a management or lead role in systems projects and/or operations
High-level understanding of applications, integration and data architecture
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Solid MS Office tools skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience with JIRA an asset
Strong leadership skills
IT service management (ITIL preferred)
Leadership experience with software delivery and implementation teams
Experience with systems and data analysis
Project management skills, especially with Agile methodologies
Experience in software change and release management processes
Experience with eCommerce, CRM, POS, and ERP systems an asset
Experience with the Salesforce products and platforms (Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud) a strong asset
Experience with back-office retail systems such as Merchandising, Warehouse Management and Order Management systems an asset
