About us: The enterprise Academic Research & Collaborative Technologies (ARC) group is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, operation, maintenance and effectiveness of core teaching and learning systems, research systems and enterprise collaborative technologies at U of T.

Your opportunity: Under the supervision of the Manager, Research and Collaborative Applications, the Information Systems Analyst provides a range of services to support the activities of the Academic Research & Collaborative Technologies (ARC) group. You will play an essential role in supporting the rollout and uptake of generative AI and similar kinds of technology at the University through the planning, testing, implementation and improvement of AI systems and solutions, and by developing and delivering training and support to individuals and groups of users. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess strong communication and organizational skills and excel in working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team with stakeholders and technical staff from across the University.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning the implementation of new business system processes
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements
  • Writing complex specifications based on system requirements
  • Evaluating new technologies or new and modified businesses processes to determine enhancement requirements
  • Analyzing existing service and process procedures and recommending changes
  • Keeping well-informed on policies, procedures, regulations and new technology
  • Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems
Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree. Minimum five years' experience working on the planning, testing, implementation and support of post-secondary enterprise applications. Proficiency in the use of generative AI tools and technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, Azure AI Studio, Microsoft Copilot). Demonstrated understanding of trends and policies surrounding generative AI, particularly in higher education. Experience with designing dashboards using data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Experience with Power Platform. Experience in training users and writing user documentation. Able to instruct, direct, assist, guide and share information with both technical and non-technical personnel. Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, adjust to occasional changes in priorities and respond quickly and effectively to emerging situations. Strong written and presentation communication skills and ability to communicate in a variety of styles and voices for a range of audiences. Demonstrated effective project management skills. Demonstrated superior client service skills.

Assets (Nonessential):

Familiarity with the University of Toronto, its organizational structure and knowledge of U of T policies and procedures. Familiarity with AI application architecture is a strong asset. Experience with Microsoft Azure software development services is a strong asset.
