What you need to be successful? Qualifications required
  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in sheet metal work
  • Ability to manage documentation and read drawings (manufacturing drawings)
  • Fluent in French (written and verbal)
  • Good understanding and reading of English
  • Excellent capacity for Learning
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving abilities (understanding and logic)
  • Interpersonal skills: team player and positive attitude
  • Familiarity with IT systems, Windows operating system and SAP
  • Between two and five years' of experience
  • Good knowledge of the English language, written and oral, is required for this position taking into account the operational needs of the Employer and the people with whom the [candidate] will be called upon to interact

What your day to day will look like? General Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly and rework operations on engine part components and assemble details
  • Regulate, operate and adjust machines for sheet metal work, such as laser cutting machines, presses, plasma spray machines and peening machines
  • Perform deburring, welding preparation, marking, washing, various types of masking, scraping, polishing, cutting, drilling, riveting, dent removal, spot welding and sandblasting operations on various parts, including correcting manufacturing defects
  • Work from verbal instructions, manufacturing methods sheets, schedules, drawings and other written instructions, and perform any changes and adjustments necessary to meet the required dimensions
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of parts during the manufacturing process, as specified or required, using various types of precision measuring instruments and jigs, and update the appropriate parameter logs in order to establish efficient operations using statistical process control
  • Operate a forklift truck to move hydraulic press fixtures
  • Operate hydraulic presses and mechanical power presses, and adjust these via electronic/mechanical/manual means to perform forming, perforating, deburring, cutting and trimming operations on engine parts
  • Perform forming operations and carry out any adjustments required for development parts and any adjustments required to compensate for equipment responses
  • May be asked to operate several close machines simultaneously
Specific Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing new processes, products and turnbacks for the selection of methods and tools
  • Wash, store, package, identify and move the parts while ensuring that standards and specifications are met
  • Take the required items from the stores and columns, and inform the manager of what has been taken and what is required
  • Perform maintenance routines to ensure that fluid levels are correct, filters are clean and that the general condition of the machine complies with the checklist, etc.
  • Keep the equipment and work environment clean and in good condition
  • Participate in training and share knowledge of the various tasks and equipment with team mates
  • Perform other similar tasks that are of less or equal complexity to the functions mentioned above
  • Report problems to the department manager
