Job description:
Senior Control Systems Engineer OR Technologist. Company provides custom scanning and control system solutions in the wood processing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Control system design
- Industrial electrical design
- PLC programming
- HMI design/programming
- Troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, and HMI
- Support project proposals and estimation
- Preparing functional specifications
- Site commissioning and installation
- Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager
- On-call service/support for existing installations (may be open to interviewing intermediate candidates)
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Effective communication skills with desire to take on new challenges
- Hardworking leader with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
- Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automations, AB family of programmable control systems
- Knowledge of motion control systems
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar programs is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering or related Degree, Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment. (Sawmill Industry Experience, ASSET)
- Aptitude for Programming (C, C#, VBA, SQL, Ladder Logic, or other languages)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated team player
- Hold and maintain a valid drivers license, travel up to 20%
