As the Associate Vice President (AVP), National Accounts, you will guide the company's efforts to maintain and expand relationships with large, national distribution partners. You will be responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals and develop relationships, while leading the business planning cycle to ensure needs and expectations are met. You are guided by defined goals and objectives and work under the broad supervision of the Vice President, Head of Institutional and National Accounts.

Your role:

Your primary focus is to gain a deep understanding of client firms through the building and enhancement of long-term relationships at all levels of the client firm. Strategic focus includes collaborating with designated client firms to retain current assets and add new assets by continuing a core strategy of shifting from traditional "mutual fund supplier" to "strategic business partner." You work on an integrated basis with the National Sales teams to deliver and align National Bank experience to the strategic business needs of client firms with the objective of enhancing gross sales, improving asset retention, broadening product participation and maximizing profitability. You build and enhance long-term relationships with national distribution partners and uncover mutually beneficial business opportunities to drive account growth.

Institutional and National Accounts:

Work in building relationships with firm gatekeepers, product managers and analysts to maximize asset acquisition and retention. Help influence actions and decisions with targeted firms, to promote increased sales and retention of National Bank Investments (NBI) products. Identify product shelf opportunities, as appropriate, within new and existing bank and insurance product platforms – Wrap Solutions/DB/DC/Insurance. Identify small market and mid-market institutional shelf opportunities particularly within the small pension, group, high net worth, family office and PM shop side of the business. Ensure regular sharing and management of client firm corporate intelligence with key managers of National Sales – NBI. Collaborate with key managers of National Sales – NBI to ensure strategic alignment of business and product solutions with the client firm. Build and maintain internal relationships with NBI sales and product teams. Represent National Bank at industry and key client events to position NBI as a global integrated wealth management firm.

Cash Management HISA/GIC Distribution:

Meeting with major dealers on a regular basis to discuss new distribution opportunities. Create new opportunities by offering new products and services through partnership and collaboration with the bank's Treasury, Compliance, IT and Operations divisions. Keeping aware of all the industry changes such as: CDIC, regulatory changes, etc.

Prerequisites:

Degree in a related field and 3+ years of sales and/or consultative selling experience within the investments industry. MBA or CFA is an asset. Strong familiarity with the firms and key decision makers across the Canadian investments landscape. Deep experience and fluency with investment solutions. Analytics-first approach to sales; preference for data informing actions. Comfort working in a fast growing and entrepreneurial environment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. "Winning" mindset; strong goal orientation. Ability to travel when required.
