About the Opportunity
Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation, maintenance of accounting records in conformity with ASPE, and assist with month-end close activity
Responsible for timely completion of P&L variance analysis on a monthly basis
Possess strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes
Act as a business advisor to a network of Branch Managers across Ontario, offering training and collaborative solutions to improve the success and profitability of each business unit
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
Assist with year-end external audit by preparing and reviewing all audit requirements
Manage customer rebate programs
Prepare monthly rent roll for all locations, maintain lease and complete CAM reconciliations
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization
Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of financial reports
Prepare ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects as required.
About You
CPA/CMA designation (or in final stages), with 3-5 years related work experience
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite (Pivot tables, vlookups)
Working knowledge of Inventory Management is an asset
Experience filing GST/HST
Some payroll processing experience
Working knowledge of BlackLine, SXe, and COGNOS is an asset
Ability to develop a strong rapport with coworkers
Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build a positive relationship with team members
Self-starter who is able to take initiative and work well independently
Ability to manage tight monthly deadlines and deliver high quality work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information proficiently, and develops alternative solutions
Strong communication and business partnering skills
Organized, detail-oriented, good time management skills, and able to balance multiple priorities effectively
Salary Range $65,000 - $82,000/year
