About the Opportunity

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation and review of annual and quarterly financial statements and MD&A under IFRS to ensure compliance with U.S. SEC regulations and filings
  • Oversight and review of technical accounting research and documentation; communicate and collaborate with the business and FP&A to understand the accounting and impact
  • Monitor and interpret new accounting standards and SEC regulations, including those related to sustainability reporting, and assess the impact to the Company; maintain appropriate documentation and lead the implementation and execution of such new standards
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare information to support the global consolidated audit, interim reviews and SOX testing
  • Oversee the accounting of certain areas such as, but not limited to, share-based compensation, lease accounting, purchase accounting over business combinations
  • Work closely with our global regional finance teams to guide and support local compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and review statutory financial statements
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Accounting Operations, Investor Relations, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other cross functional groups to achieve objectives
  • Recommend and streamline processes and initiate improvements where necessary
  • Support and enhance internal controls across global finance organization
  • Ad hoc work as required to ensure the success of the broader organization

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Canadian CPA designation
  • 10+ years of experience in a national public accounting firm or public company reporting experience within a multinational business
  • Ability to research, propose, document and articulate company positions on complex accounting issues
  • Experience managing a team and demonstrated ability to foster growth and development of direct staff
  • Commitment to effective operation of SOX controls

Salary Range

$135,000 - $155,000/year
