Skills:

  • Travel overnight in support of the company. 100% Travel
  • 3-4+ years suitable employment experience; High aptitude and a strong work ethic is a must
  • Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Conduct maintenance of equipment (fueling, lubrication, etc.)
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds)
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. Tests installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections.
  • Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
  • Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes.
  • Replace/repair string lines.
  • Perform LOTO.
  • Perform IV Curve tracing.
  • Perform megger and insulation testing.
  • Perform IR scans.
  • Medium voltage and electrical testing.
  • Commission inverters and converters
  • Splice med voltage cables.
  • Read schematics.
  • Pass skills verification.
  • Maintains inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain high quality control on provided tools, vehicles and materials.
  • Train, mentor and develop laborers into Apprentices, must be able to lead a crew of 10.
  • Ensure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirements.
  • Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message.

Experience Level: Mandatory- 3-4+ years solar tech experience - as an O+M technician on commercial solar systems- (not residential) Must have Experience with troubleshooting and repairing solar inverters on commercial solar systems This is a Direct hire position that requires the ability to travel for 6-8 weeks at a time throughout the US. Airfare will be paid along with Per diem for hotel and food. Valid drivers license is required for truck rentals.
