Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Team Lead to oversee the management of architectural projects from conception to construction, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an architect or technologist, and possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of civic/institutional projects such as education facilities, municipal buildings, public safety, and seniors care facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of projects, from initial design phase through to construction.
- Working closely with the 3 Principals, you will lead projects either on your own or with a team of up to 6 professionals, including architects, technologists, and support staff.
- Collaborate effectively with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met within budget and on-time.
- Utilize expertise in building codes and practices to ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Stay aware of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve project outcomes and processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant Canadian experience in managing architectural projects within an architecture firm. A background in construction is a plus!
- well-rounded experience where you can contribute with designs, drawings etc.
- Good design sense.
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations; willingness to continue learning and staying up-to-date on changes.
- Experience in the Public/Institutional sector is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in 3-D BIM (Revit) and project management software and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Knowledge of general project and production costs.
