Schedule: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Sunday to Thursday (75 hours bi-weekly)

The Assistant Manager of Supportive Housing provides operational and leadership support to the Manager of Supportive Housing, with a focus on staffing and resident services at an assigned site. This role ensures quality service delivery, promotes team success, and assists with the implementation of policies and performance standards.
Position's Primary Objective:
To assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of supportive housing, provide direct supervision to staff, support policy compliance, and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff and provide daily operational support for the assigned site.
- Mentor and support staff with orientation, training, and performance management.
- Approve timesheets, time-off requests, and mileage/expense claims in ADP.
- Respond to staffing needs and coordinate with HR and the Admin Coordinator.
- Ensure policy and protocol adherence including safety and emergency responses.
- Support implementation of resident programs and assist in resolving high-profile issues.
- Participate in program evaluation, data collection, and report submission.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational problem-solving as part of the management team.
- Participate in On-Call rotation with other Supportive Services Managers.
Other related duties and tasks as required:
- As assigned by the Manager of Supportive Housing.
Requirements
Qualifications (minimum Education and Experience requirements):
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Education:
- A degree in a related human/social service field preferred.
- Conflict resolution/crisis prevention training and experience.
- Current Intermediate First Aid Certificate.
- Naloxone administration training required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years recent experience including at least one year supervisory experience in the non-profit housing or a related social service field.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with populations impacted by homelessness, addictions, mental health issues and/or other barriers to stable housing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and Housing First models.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team support skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act.
- Excellent crisis prevention and conflict management abilities.
Additional Criteria for Role:
- Completion of a Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice is required.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle with 'business class' insurance and adequate liability ($2 million minimum).
- On-Call availability required.
