Park Paving Ltd. is seeking an experienced Loader Operator to join our Asphalt Plant team. This is a full-time seasonal position that offers competitive wages and benefits.

As an Asphalt Plant Loader Operator, your main duties will include:

  • Safely operate a front-end loader at the asphalt plant
  • Stockpile materials delivered to the site
  • Load aggregate materials into the asphalt plant bins
  • Keep materials clear of driving lanes
  • Maintain communication with the plant crew by radio
  • Monitor belts, screens and other plant equipment, and report any abnormalities to the Plant Foreman
  • Read equipment manuals and understand the proper operation of the loader
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required checklists
  • Monitor and document equipment operating hours and fuel consumption
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance and daily greasing
  • Change loader cutting edges when required
  • Assist with maintenance, cleanup and general site housekeeping when loader operations are not required
  • Assist with site setup, rigging and other labour activities as required
  • Support the plant crew with additional tasks as directed by the Plant Foreman

As a key member of our asphalt plant team, you will play an important role in maintaining material flow, supporting plant production and contributing to a safe, clean and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience safely operating front-end loaders
  • Strong working knowledge of loaders, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or higher
  • Driving record that meets Park Paving Ltd.'s minimum standards
  • Ability to work long hours, overtime and consecutive days as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance and climb
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labour activities, including cleaning tracks, greasing equipment and assisting with site setup
  • Dependable, punctual and prepared to work varying hours based on weather conditions and production requirements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors and plant crew members
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive and organized work environment
