Our Transmission & Distribution East group is currently looking to add an administrative assistant to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Reporting to the Business process manager, we are seeking a self-starter and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant with a strong focus on accounts payable (AP) processing and basic Accounts Receivable (AR) support to join our team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing a high volume of invoices, and supporting various administrative and related tasks.

Requirements

Duties:

  • Finance & Accounting Support:
    • Assist with high-volume Accounts Payable (AP) processing (300+ invoices monthly), especially during month-end periods.
    • Provide basic receiving and posting support for incoming goods and services.
    • Support Accounts Receivable (AR) by assisting with billing tasks and backing up the A/R function as needed.
    • Help with vendor set-ups and ensure accurate vendor records in the system.
    • Assist in basic Purchase Order (PO) creation and testing, particularly for low-dollar value transactions.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Support the PNC portal transition and assist with process documentation or coordination related to the new system.
    • Provide general administrative assistance to various departments, including filing, data entry, document handling, and scheduling support.
    • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to support ongoing process improvements.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience in an administrative or office support role, ideally with exposure to AP/AR functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of paperwork or digital documents efficiently.
  • Comfortable working with financial systems or tools (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment.
