The Supervisor, Grounds and Conversion oversees the work product of the labourers and operators on duty. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work; addressing complaints; recommending solutions; and report any disciplinary concerns to the management. As well as working both indoors and outdoors throughout the grounds and various facilities both on site and off site. Perform duties including, but not limited to move, set-up and tear down of equipment for various events. Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work. Responsibilities include; operating various machinery and equipment (i.e., Forklift, front end loader, unit-loader, dump truck, skid steer, scissor lift, street sweeper, ride on sweeper/scrubber) to move materials around various locations on grounds.
Oversee the work product of Labourers and Operators by:
- Assign substitute labourer(s) / Operator(s) to areas where a primary Labourer/Operator is absent.
- Instruct Labourers / Operators on the proper mobile and heavy equipment and various hand and power tools.
- Ensure staff are informed of any change in policies and procedures.
- Communicate with Management on issues of staff attendance and performance.
- Train and supervise Labourer and Operator staff as needed.
Working both indoors and outdoors throughout the grounds and various facilities both on-site and off-site by:
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas; using snow blowers, snow shovels and spreading ice-melt.
- Clear debris and snow from streets, sidewalks, building grounds and other areas.
- Maintenance of green areas such as watering of foliage, rototilling, grooming wood chips and trees/shrubs, weeding, etc.
Ensure maintenance of the grounds by:
- Keep walkways clean.
- Clean parking lot drains
- Building round concepts
- Requisitioning and purchasing of materials
- Vacancy cleanup
- Furniture installation
- Inspection of properties
- Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally.
- Problem Solve
Assist with the move, set-up and tear down equipment for various events by:
- Assist with general labourer duties including but not limited to; move, set up and tear down of equipment for various events, as directed by the Manager.
- Organize and secure stored materials and assets.
- Organize all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.) and complete accurate work for billing and payroll purposes. Submit all paperwork to the Assistant Manager within 48 hours of completion of each day's work.
- Observe additional maintenance needs requiring attention and report those to the Manager, Assistant Manager, and Planner.
- Provide guidance in regard to occupational health and safety when completing certain tasks with Labourers and Operators.
Operating various machinery to move materials around various locations on grounds by:
- Assist equipment operators to properly secure attachments to equipment or trucks.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that all machines continue to run smoothly.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws,
- drills, and wrenches.
- Perform routine post and pre-inspections to ensure suitable working nature of
- equipment.
Performing other duties as required by Manager, Assistant Manager or Planner.
Wage: $21.37
Requirements
WHAT IT TAKES

Education and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 education, supplemented by formal training and/or relevant
- work experience.
- A valid Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is considered an asset. Candidates without this certification must be willing to obtain it.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- 2 years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.
- Must have valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License and a clean drivers abstract.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven knowledge and experience of WHIMIS Program
- Knowledge of labour code, work standards and occupational health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of house service order process and practices.
- Ability to work at sustained pace and produce quality work.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.

- The successful candidate must also possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC)
