POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coordinating all shipping related activities within Materials. The Shipping administrator will improve the department and themselves through training and continuing education.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Take charge of all shipping activities, coordinating timely processing and smooth flow of materials.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure flawless communication and efficiency across the board.
  • Expedite work orders and track materials, ensuring that everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there.
  • Investigate and resolve any shipping variances, focusing on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) daily, keeping leadership informed and on target.
  • Ensure shipments are processed on time, every time, aligning with the schedule and maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Manage all shipping-related documentation, verifying accuracy and ensuring compliance with required regulations.
  • Oversee compliance with customs requirements, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), FedEx/UPS protocols, and more.
  • Coordinate materials sent to and from suppliers and customers, ensuring smooth logistics at all times.
  • Participate in regular team toolbox meetings, contributing ideas and updates.
  • Provide leadership with weekly operational excellence updates, driving continuous improvement.
  • Keep the materials department stocked and ready with all necessary supplies.
  • Play a key role in inventory accuracy and achieving goals by reducing obsolete inventory and ensuring timely release of work orders.
  • Help develop and implement policies, tools, and guidelines that enhance the success of our processes.
  • Support the Materials team in meeting budgetary goals for supplies, labor, and operational expenses.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience/Knowledge: Experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, or similar roles.
  • Skills: Computer skills (Excel and word) and inventory management software, Communication skills and Organizational skills.
