Our Transmission and Distribution group is currently looking to add a Foundation Construction Supervisor to the team.

The Foundation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the execution of all foundation-related construction activities on site, ensuring work is performed in accordance with project specifications, schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards. This role involves the direct supervision of craft personnel, coordination of equipment and materials, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The Foundation Supervisor plays a key role in delivering foundational scopes safely, efficiently, and on time.

Please Note: This is a field based position near Chetwynd, BC with a 3-4 week on / 1 week off schedule. Flights paid to site from a major center with accomodations provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise foundation construction activities, including excavation, piling, formwork, rebar installation, concrete placement, and backfill.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with drawings, technical specifications, company procedures, and applicable codes.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; lead daily toolbox meetings, conduct field-level hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Coordinate workforce deployment, equipment, and material delivery to support daily and weekly work plans.
  • Monitor and track productivity, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Interface with field engineering, quality control, and surveying teams to verify layout accuracy and quality compliance.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure alignment with contract requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive daily field reports, timesheets, material records, and progress updates.
  • Participate in construction planning meetings and contribute to development of lookahead schedules.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of civil and foundation construction methods, including concrete and piling
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and survey layouts
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and legislation (OH&S, site-specific rules, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, team coordination, and people management skills
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making under field conditions
  • Competent in using tablets or digital systems for reporting and communication
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing site demands

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience collaborating with utility companies or working on utility-related projects
  • Working knowledge of material management and purchasing practices
  • Proficiency with JD Edwards or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
