Compensation: $19.78/hr - $24.48/hr

Reports to: Manager, CNIB SmartLife Western Canada

We're looking for a mission-driven CNIB SmartLife Coachwho is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Recruit, engage, and lead a team of students, volunteers, and CNIB Come-to-Work participants to support SmartLife Centre operations and sales.
  • Assist participants with navigating the SmartLife e-commerce website and accessing technology solutions.
  • Manage daily operations, including participant inquiries, consultations, payment transactions, inventory, and order fulfillment.
  • Build strong relationships with participants to understand their needs and provide personalized technology solutions.
  • Coordinate and deliver workshops, demonstrations, and one-on-one coaching to support participant learning and use of accessible technology.
  • Drive community engagement by organizing regional workshops in collaboration with SmartLife Coaches.
  • Educate participants about current and emerging accessible technologies through hands-on and virtual sessions.
  • Assist the Alberta STEP program by fulfilling customer orders, product returns and repairs, and preparing items for resale.
  • Maintain accurate records and data in internal systems and databases.
  • Represent CNIB SmartLife at regional accessible tech events and tradeshows.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3 years in program development, customer service, or program management within a charity/not-for-profit organization.
  • Experience in training individuals with vision loss on adaptive technologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in accessibility and adaptive technology, with a strong knowledge of related hardware and software.
  • Sales and customer service expertise in accessibility services.
  • Proven organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Creative, solution-oriented, and adaptable to change.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Shopify POS, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a flexible, agile environment
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Work Environment

  • Primary location: Edmonton SmartLife Centre (Onsite).
  • Moderate travel may be required.
