About the Opportunity

· Responsible for drafting of engagements with minimal supervision required;

· Monitor and update engagement plans and budgets;

· Prepare client files – primarily compilation engagements

· Prepare personal, corporate tax and other information returns

· Perform various analyses, reports, and account reconciliations

· Correspondence and phone follow up with CRA on behalf of clients

· Prepare audit and review engagements, agreed upon procedures engagements, and compliance reviews as needed

· Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

About You

· Experienced accounting technician with a minimum of three to five years' experience in a Canadian public accounting firm.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong time management skills, including the ability to work independently, multi-task, manage, and meet tight deadlines.

· Excellent drive and keen desire to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.

· Thorough, with attention to detail.

· Proven ability to maintain high level of enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.

· Able to work hard to meet demands and deadlines at key times of pressure and take on challenges.

· Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word and Excel), CaseWare, CaseView and Profile or TaxPrep (preferred), QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online. Jazz-it experience helpful.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, in-person, no hybrid
Salary: $55,000 to $65,000 per year, plus performance bonus
Schedule:

· Open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. 8 hours per day required, attendance in core hours 10am to 3pm.
Experience:

· Canadian public accounting firm: 3 years' experience required
