We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Systems Administrator for a contract role. This individual will support and optimize systems, applications, and DevOps tooling across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate has strong system administration skills, hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both Linux and Windows environments.

This role focuses on ensuring the availability, performance, and security of systems supporting development and delivery pipelines, with a strong emphasis on automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot applications and servers across development and production environments.
  • Deploy and manage code, ensuring secure and scalable environments for multiple applications.
  • Maintain and support DevOps tools and services such as GitLab, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Participate in Kanban or Scrum planning meetings to estimate and prioritize work.
  • Engage in a rotating on-call schedule, supporting systems during off-hours and weekends as required.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Testers, and peers to diagnose issues, recreate test cases, and validate configurations.
  • Drive the use of DevOps automation tools to enhance quality, performance, and reliability of services.
  • Monitor and tune infrastructure and applications for stability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation and assist in training and supporting team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration and support roles.
  • Proven expertise in Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server system management, including performance tuning and security hardening.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or UrbanCode Deploy.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or OpenStack.
  • Basic experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Admin-level knowledge of Artifactory (Nexus, JFrog), GitLab, and Ansible.
  • Intermediate or higher networking knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes container environments.
  • Solid scripting abilities in Bash, PowerShell, PHP, or similar languages.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK Stack, Splunk, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
  • Strong grasp of Agile/SAFe development and operational practices.
  • Comfortable with prioritization, self-management, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Highly adaptable and quick to learn new technologies.

Type of Job: Temporary, Contractor

Contract Start/End Date: Nov 3, 2025 to Oct 31, 2026
