We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Intermediate Application Specialist for a 1 year contract. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role and a strong interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and software automation. You will play a critical part in supporting, deploying, and optimizing IBM Rational Test Virtualization (RTV) and related toolchains to ensure the seamless delivery of quality software across environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot the Rational Test Virtualization (RTV) application.
- Deploy code and manage secure environments supporting RTV infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Developers and QA teams to diagnose, recreate, and resolve complex system and application issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Kanban/Scrum), contributing to estimation, planning, and delivery.
- Engage in a rotating on-call schedule and be available for off-hours/weekend support when required.
- Champion DevOps best practices and culture to improve software quality and deployment velocity.
- Support and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows server environments.
- Continuously learn and adopt emerging technologies relevant to the role.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar application support or DevOps role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting and managing Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Bash, PowerShell, Python, PHP, Java, or Groovy.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as GitLab or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Rational Test Virtualization or similar service virtualization tools.
- Basic understanding of cloud service providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and general software automation principles.
- Experience with logging and monitoring solutions such as ELK Stack, Splunk, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Proficiency in GIT or other version control systems.
- Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies.
