Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Procurement Master Data Specialist is crucial in managing and maintaining the integrity of master data in procurement systems. This role focuses on creating, updating, and monitoring vendor and material database to ensure accurate data flow throughout the estimating and procurement process. The specialist will collaborate with procurement, estimating, and other relevant teams to improve data management processes and resolve any discrepancies. They will be integral in supporting strategic sourcing initiatives and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the creation and maintenance of supplier records, including onboarding new vendors and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data related to procurement, such as item descriptions, pricing, lead times, and other relevant metrics.
  • Conduct regular audits and data cleansing initiatives to identify and resolve discrepancies in procurement data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and update material specifications and supplier information as needed.
  • Support procurement activities by providing timely data insights and analytics for decision-making.
  • Assist in training and guiding team members on master data management processes and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation of data governance processes and compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement data management systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in master data management or procurement data analysis.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems; knowledge of procurement modules or software, particularly in ViewPoint (Vista), is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent documentation and data integrity skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices related to procurement is an asset.
