WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead and continuously improve emergency response, hazard control, and health & safety programs, including inspections, exposure assessments, and hands-on EHS support.
  • Lead emergency preparedness, hazard response, and health surveillance programs (e.g., hearing tests, JHSC, respirator fit testing).
  • Oversee workers' compensation claims, return-to-work processes, and health and safety investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide EHS guidance for facility and production activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training, lead inspections, and track compliance with environmental and waste management regulations.
  • Monitor occupational exposures, conduct risk assessments, and analyze EHS performance data to drive improvements.
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, audit readiness, and maintain ICFR controls related to EHS.
  • Ensure alignment and standardization of EHS practices across multiple sites, collaborating with U.S. and Canadian teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of EHS regulations, integrate changes into site operations, and support internal audits.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for on-site security personnel and support emergency response protocols.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and legal requirements are effectively implemented and followed

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience with a minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working in both manufacturing and unionized settings.
  • Degree or certification in Occupational Safety & Health; CRSP designation or eligibility is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry hygiene standards.
  • Certified in First Aid with a solid understanding of emergency response procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, conducting, and tracking EHS compliance audits and hazard assessments.
  • Proficient in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Assessments (JA), and gap analysis.
  • Skilled in developing, delivering, and evaluating impactful EHS training programs for diverse audiences.
