POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for Engineering Project Coordination in support of production contracts and sales opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Serve as primary technical correspondent and New Flyer Engineering representative for production contracts and sales opportunities.
• Identify, define and manage technical configuration requirements and clearly communicate details to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities. Independently develop strategies to mitigate risks and action opportunities.
• Manage the Engineering Bill of Material and report BOM status to management.
• Effectively manage and present project documentation.
• Assign tasks to New Flyer Engineering Designers to complete contract-specific design work.
• Actively contribute or lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Provide technical vehicle training for the department.
• Check or approve others work.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel: < 50% dependent on specific project responsibilities.

Requirements

• Post-secondary Engineering education or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
• Knowledge of Engineering Design and Project Management.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts.
• Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
