POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for Engineering Project Coordination in support of production contracts and sales opportunities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Serve as primary technical correspondent and New Flyer Engineering representative for production contracts and sales opportunities.
- Identify, define and manage technical configuration requirements and clearly communicate details to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify technical risks and opportunities. Independently develop strategies to mitigate risks and action opportunities.
- Manage the Engineering Bill of Material and report BOM status to management.
- Effectively manage and present project documentation.
- Assign tasks to New Flyer Engineering Designers to complete contract-specific design work.
- Actively contribute or lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and train new employees.
- Provide technical vehicle training for the department.
- Check or approve others work.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel: < 50% dependent on specific project responsibilities.
Requirements
- Post-secondary Engineering education or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- Knowledge of Engineering Design and Project Management.
- Knowledge of Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
