Schedule: Full-Time / Part-Time

Salary: $35 - $40 Hourly OR $67,200 to $76,000 annually

Position Overview:

Webtree Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced Biology, Chemistry, and Science Teacher to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in the sciences with experience teaching high school Biology and Chemistry (Grades 11 & 12) as well as Middle School Science. Experience teaching AP-level courses and participation in STEM initiatives is highly desirable. The ability to teach Math as well is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ontario Curriculum Delivery:Teach Biology and Chemistry (Grades 11 & 12) and Middle School Science in accordance with the Ontario Curriculum.
• Lesson Planning & Assessment:Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that support student learning, growth, and Ontario curriculum standards.
• STEM Integration:Incorporate hands-on STEM activities to foster problem-solving, creativity, and scientific exploration.
• AP Course Instruction:Deliver AP Biology and AP Chemistry content, preparing students for college-level AP examinations (preferred).
• Student Engagement:Employ innovative and interactive teaching strategies to enhance participation, curiosity, and critical thinking.
• Communication:Maintain strong, open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to promote academic success and a positive school culture.
• Professional Development:Stay updated on the latest advancements in science education; participate in workshops and training relevant to STEM and science teaching.
• HOSA Mentorship (Preferred):Coach and guide students in preparation for the HOSA competition, focusing on health science concepts and practices.

Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Biology and/or Chemistry (required).
• Experience:Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably within Canadian schools, teaching high school Biology & Chemistry and Middle School Science (required).
• Curriculum Knowledge:Familiarity and ability to deliver the Ontario Curriculum for Grades 11 & 12 (required).
• STEM Initiatives:Experience in delivering STEM-focused content and projects (preferred).
• AP Certification:Ability to teach AP Biology and AP Chemistry is a strong asset (preferred).
• Teaching Style:Engaging, enthusiastic, student-centered; committed to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• References: Three professional references required.
