Lethbridge School Division invites innovative leaders who are energetic and insightful to apply for the position of the Inclusive Education Coordinator with duties to commence on August 25, 2025, or on a mutually agreed upon date. The City of Lethbridge
Lethbridge is located just two hours south of Calgary, close to the Rocky Mountains and U.S. border. It is a family-oriented and culturally vibrant community with many amenities of a larger city. The ideal candidate will support the Director of Inclusive Education by:
- Providing student and program support;
- Coordinating, planning, and leading professional learning opportunities;
- Liaising with community partners;
- Overseeing contracted supports and services in schools;
- Supporting use of accessible and assistive technologies;
- Reviewing and approving special transportation requests.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- High expectations of every learner, and an understanding of how Universal Design for Learning facilitates the success of all students;
- A dedicated commitment to supporting all students in an inclusive learning environment;
- A deep understanding of curriculum and sound pedagogical approaches;
- A strong record of advocating for diverse learners and supporting teachers in making curriculum accessible;
- An ethical, student-centered approach to decision making;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture;
- Qualities of a reflective educator committed to ongoing professional learning;
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
Requirements
- Applicants should be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate, and possess or be near completion of a Master's in Education;
- Previous experience as a School Administrator or System Leader;
- Class 5 driver's license and a roadworthy vehicle to travel to Division schools.
Conditions of Employment
To ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification may be a valid driver's license, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee's legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
