Full Time, Permanent

Reports to: Manager, Programs and Operations

Compensation: $43,500 - $54,500

Direct Reports: No

We're looking for a mission-driven Team Lead, Operations who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Assist the team with the development and fostering of an inclusive, empowered culture where every team member – staff and volunteer – feels their contributions towards our mission that are equally valued and respected.
  • Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, all CNIB's policies and procedures.
  • Champion CNIB's high standards of client and customer service, ensuring they are universally understood by staff and volunteers, and continuously upheld across all aspects of local and regional operations.
  • Help make CNIB the organization of choice for volunteers by promoting our commitment to volunteer engagement at every opportunity and by developing the active volunteer base needed to support local operations.
  • Assist Team Leads and/or Leadership with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for building and operational needs and facilitate vendor services as needed.
  • Assist in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure coverage for reception area and needs are met. Leads and guides a team of volunteers to manage administrative functions, ensuring that tasks are completed effectively and on time.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Graduate of recognized Business Certificate Program, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Mental Health First Aid an asset.
  • Customer Service/ Experience certificate an asset.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' administrative and operational experience.
  • Direct experience with customer/client service is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with data management databases is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Office 365 including word processing and experience working in a database environment including queries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined.
  • A customer-oriented approach is essential.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to deal with tactfully and diplomatically with difficult situations or individual.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
