Position Summary

As a junior joint venture analyst, your job will be to conduct joint venture audits in the Canadian energy sector and also assist with joint venture accounting and analysis. This is a highly analytical role, which requires strong Excel, data, and critical thinking skills. Attention to detail, work ethic, and trainability are also key skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will be a new grad or early career professional, seeking to use their analytical skills as part of a friendly, dynamic team of Canadian energy accountants and auditors.

  • Provide independent and actionable recommendations for improving internal controls and operational processes.
  • Perform detailed vouching of documents, extract and analyze complex data sets, and apply sophisticated audit testing procedures.
  • Verify that expenses are accurately recorded in accordance with governing agreements (e.g., PJVA, CAPL).
  • Thoroughly document all audit findings, prepare comprehensive working paper files, and clearly communicate audit results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Manage your tasks effectively to ensure all scope items are completed on schedule and within budget.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary or contract rate commensurate with your experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings to diverse audiences.
