About the Opportunity

Eriez Flotation Canada Inc. the flagship office for FLOTATION, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering Team. You will have strong skills in performing engineering calculations of process equipment and provide support for activities performed by the Mechanical Engineering department.

Requirements

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Perform design / engineering calculations of process equipment as per applicable codes/standards
  • Execute small and medium-sized projects from quotation to supply stage
  • Work within an established project scope of work, schedule and budget
  • Assist in preparing estimates of material quantities and directs preparation of drawings, bill of materials, shipping volumes, estimate of equipment weights, prepare cost and timing estimates
  • Assist in preparing data sheets, check drawings, bill of materials, check O & M manuals, documents for compliance to project requirements, prepare installation guidelines
  • Assist in preparing vendor bids, evaluates vendor proposals, prepare purchase order drafts
  • Coordinate with other discipline designers, engineers, shop personnel other offices personnel and customer
  • Visit vendors and project sites, conduct and co-ordinate inspections at sites. Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations and maintenance of equipment / products as required, coordinate shipments
  • Review bid documents, prepare scope of supply , exceptions, spec summary and any other relevant documents required on the bid.
  • Review, prepare packing lists, as required
  • Prepare PO's for fabrication and inspection
  • Review of P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and instrument indexes.
  • Preparation of instrumentation data sheets and catalogue cuts
  • Assist sales staff as required to solve customer technical problems, remotely and at customer site
  • Inspects instruments, valves pumps and motors

About You

To qualify, you must have 5 - 7 years of relevant experience preferably in the flotation technology, manufacturing, and/or mining equipment industry. We also require a degree education in Mechanical Engineering and eligible for Professional Engineer registration in BC.

  • Ability to work well with a variety of people in a team environment

In addition, you must have knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:

  • Knowledge of process control and instrumentation.
  • Experienced in review of P&ID, PLC/HMI.
  • Knowledge of API 650 and ASME B31.3 Codes
  • Knowledge of Inventor and Vault Pro software
  • Perform stress analysis with Inventor
  • Knowledge of NozzlePRO and Pipe-FLO software
