PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee daily operations of a team of accountants using established tracking tool.

2. Assist managers as needed with client budgets.

3. Successful transition incoming condominium corporations as assigned with subsequent passing on to the team.

4. Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements to ensure team portfolios meet process deadlines.

5. Assist and guide team on cash flow as needed by managers.

6. Ensure compliance with GAAP and Condominium Act requirements for financial statements

7. Maintain established internal controls and operating procedures

8. Work to accomplish department goals and objectives are established by VP Finance and Leadership.

9. Serve as primary liaison relative to condominium financial issues for team's portfolio

10. Oversee audits for team's portfolio by reviewing prior to audit to ensure audit ready with goal of no audit adjusting entries.

11. Assist team as needed with training and workload.

12. Oversee client banking and back up to Client Banking manager.

13. Communicate with board members and attend meetings as needed.

14. Guide accountants on more complex accounting issues and improve/establish SOP's as necessary. Ex: Kitec Projects, Special Assessments, Reserve Loan.

15. Create training for accounting department

16. Create training for managers on understanding and using financials.

17. Lead establishment of updated SOPs as we move through software conversion.

18. Collaborate with Accounting Manager and VP Finance to improve department functionality as well as quality and consistency of department output.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Represent the company to condominium boards on financial and reporting issues

2. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff

3. Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff

4. Provide training for new managers on understanding financial statement

5. Serve as lecturer in accounting for in-house training.

Any other duties as assigned.

  • Requirements

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    CPA or a minimum of ten years progressive accounting experience in the Condominium Management industry

    Must be knowledgeable in GAAP

    Must be familiar with accounting/payroll software programs, Yardi & Ceridian preferably.

    Ability to conduct workshops and training to various audiences

    Exceptional communication skills

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED

    CPA designation preferred or significant Condo Industry Education and Experience as outlined.
