We are looking for awesome, self-driven Personal Support Workers to support vulnerable individuals living in Community Care and Assisted Living environments. In this role you will see multiple clients over the course of a 6-8 hour day.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
• Provide companionship and light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help a person stay at home).
• Prepare meals in accordance to the client and/or the family's request (must be open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
• Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker
• Respect and accommodate the religious and cultural needs of our clients
• Assists clients in all activities of daily living/ hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
• Assists clients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, exercises, and heavy lifting as required
• Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
• Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
• Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

• Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Registration **strongly encouraged**
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs on a repetitive and regular basis
• An asset if you have your own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)

• Negative TB Test completed within the last year
• Personal Support Worker Certification or International nursing/ doctorate Certification
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
• Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion
• COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario's Human Rights Code
• Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed.
