Low carbon, climate resilient, and sustainable development of new and existing buildings and infrastructure is the key challenge for our industry. We endeavor to find a distinct and niche role for Entuitive in this area, focusing on the highest performing projects where we can make the most impact. In a leadership position with the Sustainability + Performance team, you will fulfill several key roles at Entuitive. You will be a team player who internally and externally socializes what it means to be Entuitive and who positively contributes to the betterment of the firm.

As a subject matter expert in low carbon new and existing buildings, you will be responsible for elevating our service delivery in this area, keeping current with emerging trends and market shifts in order to recommend and implement best practices and client-centric solutions. This role will provide senior leadership and guidance to other team members, as well as include active delivery of Sustainability and Performance projects, including Zero Carbon, embodied carbon, climate resilience and adaptation, LEED, TGS, decarbonization, and other project targets. The role will grow to include actively managing the Sustainability and Performance team and projects in the East, with support from the overall Discipline Lead. The role will actively promote Entuitive services across all networks within the industry and communities in which we work.

You will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture. You will be responsible for overseeing small to large scale projects while maintaining a high level of service for the Sustainability + Performance team at Entuitive.

Requirements

What will you do?

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provides day-to-day guidance to the Sustainability and Performance team ensuring to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, and creative solutions are supported.
  • Responsible for developing staff through technical mentorship and providing ongoing feedback along with conducting the annual review process to grow the sustainability + performance capability of the firm with a focus on net zero carbon, sustainable, high performance projects.

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Actively coordinate with other individuals and groups in Entuitive for marketing and business development efforts, cross selling between disciplines, work-sharing, sharing of expertise, development of technical standards, etc.
  • Provide creative and technical input into proposal development working closely with the marketing team. Issue proposals to clients to generate new work.
  • Focuses on maintaining existing client relations by ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and services offered exceeds our clients' expectations in terms of quality.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and collaborative arrangements within the Architectural / Engineering / Construction community and other organizations to help achieve the goals of Entuitive, with a focus on developing relationships with key architects and mechanical/electrical engineering partner firms, as well as energy audit partners
  • Participate in industry related committees, events, programs, and presentations at conferences in order to increase Entuitive's profile within the industry.

Technical Delivery

  • Provide technical expertise to other staff ensuring a high level of deliverables by conducting technical reviews and instilling adherence to QA through established guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage and implement Quality Control measures and activities supporting a continuous improvement mind set and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Investigate and promote the use of advanced methods, techniques, technology or processes within project teams and throughout the firm.
  • Delivers preliminary and detailed design reports as required and oversees mark ups and the coordination of specifications, and terms of reference complying with relevant codes and standards.

Project Management

  • Responsible for effective project management including managing project budgets using the appropriate cost control methods and ensuring scheduling and resourcing plans meet the needs of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience with a proven track record of delivering complex and sophisticated sustainability projects related to energy modeling, and or LEED projects, and or zero carbon, and/or other areas relevant to sustainable buildings
  • Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities in Ontario.
  • This individual will have a track record of business development and bringing in new client relationships while leveraging existing accounts.
  • Strong business acumen, contract negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks.
  • Superior knowledge of sustainable strategies. This individual could come from a wide range of backgrounds related to sustainability, including LEED, energy modeling, life cycle analysis, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget within a large project team.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
  • P.Eng. is not a requirement but an asset.
  • The willingness to be Entuitive.
