REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years related work experience on field mechanical estimates or a combination of relevant education and experience would be an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with confidence is essential
- Technically inclined with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Expert organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Self-directed, able to set priorities and meet deadlines
- High degree of competence, reliability, and judgment demonstrated in all aspects of work

YOUR ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be accountable for bid initiation, determining the scope and pricing for various projects, and performing various takeoffs to quantify major bid components.
The position will mainly be responsible for:
- Review Client RFP documents, including Scope Of Work, and determine Alstar's role in the project
- Communicate with third parties to determine their scope and pricing for various projects
- Gather quantity takeoffs, third party RFQs, and Alstar Labour and Equipment plans to created budgets
- Complete estimates ranging in value from $1MM to >$50MM
- Create Alstar Proposal and Construction Execution Plan for submission; complete all required tender documents required for a compliant bid
- Coordinate and direct estimating team members on quantity take-offs and subcontractor requests for quote
- Create preliminary construction schedules including input from internal and external stakeholders
- Hand over awarded jobs to Project Managers, and host handover meetings
- Ensure proposals are submitted on time and manage post-bid clarifications
- Collaborate closely with Senior Management, Project Managers, Construction Managers and Project Coordinators
- Complete estimates for Labour, Equipment and Material (LEM), create proposal letters, schedules, and other supporting documents; review with management
