Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing generalist support in all the following areas: recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee benefits, performance management, training and development, and systems administration. As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist will provide broad generalist support across WLNG to employees and the company on HR services and programs including the development of initiatives and programs that help support the organization's goals. The successful candidate reports directly to Snr. HR Manager

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

  • Perform HR activities around employment, compensation, training, and development.
  • Prepare and maintain company salary structure, job documentation and job evaluation systems.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Be responsible for the organization and maintenance of personnel records, including but not limited to the creation of new employee files, upkeeping of existing employee records, and the processing of terminated employees.
  • Assist with the Performance Management process.
  • Perform daily administrative tasks such as writing letters, HR Support communications, new hire presentation memos and tracking employee data.
  • Develop and communicate company policies.
  • Administer group benefits enrolment for new employees.
  • Coordinate with HR Manager on Injury Management and Return to Work programs.
  • Educate and assist team members with benefit inquiries and enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate and support recruiting efforts in the hiring and placement of key positions including:
  • Verbal/written communication with hiring managers and create Job Descriptions.
  • Assure timely action in scheduling interviews and communicating movement of prospects through various interview stages.
  • Reporting of recruitment progress and dashboard formatting.
  • Perform reference checks.
  • Supports payroll process as needed biweekly and year-end.
  • Collaborate with employees to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and local employment laws and regulations, ethical standards and recommended best practices.

Requirements

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience working on the above referenced accountabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is preferred or working toward.
  • In-depth knowledge of Provincial and Federal Employment Legislation and Compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, MS Teams, DocuSign, HRIS and other relevant software.
  • Workday HCM and ADP experience is a plus.

  • As required, the position is based in Vancouver Office.
