The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for operating and monitoring a variety of machine tools. The job requires attention to detail and the desire to assure safety and quality at the work center. The successful candidate will be able to work both individually and as part of a group. As a member of this dynamic team, the successful candidate will also participate in group problem solving and the development of Lean solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform repetitive manual tasks
Testing with simple equipment (e.g. go/no go gauges, calipers, etc.)
Operation of various machine shop equipment (including grinders, manual machine tools or hand tools, measuring instruments) or other manual operations
Verifies part conformity using precise measuring equipment and part drawings Works to continually improve processes
Participates in Lean Manufacturing activities
Able to do some basic set ups of a less complex nature.
May be able to operate CNC machines.
May assist in training other operators
Maintaining a clean and orderly work area

This work is conducted in a Machine environment
Work involves occasional exposure to major disagreeable elements, low risk of injury/harm, more stringent safety measures may be needed
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand: use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
