Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this position is responsible for supporting new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing technical expertise to support the sales process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Manufacturing Sales Engineer are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

  • Support ALMAG's Automotive customer base with extrusion technical support, quoting and launching of new programs and manage the commercial aspects of quality with the customer.
  • Coordinate and manage awarded projects and contracts that go through the NPI process by ensuring quality and on time delivery across the different phases of the program.
  • Recognize, acknowledge, and act on continuous improvement opportunities within challenging and simplistic projects.
  • Review and understand project details such as technical drawings and specifications. Decipher which departments/individual(s) need to be aware of specific details and relay accordingly.
  • Proactively monitor projects for 'road blocks', removing them in advance when possible and actively when needed by being hands on and involved with the different departments.
  • Develop ownership on tasked assignments, motivating one to facilitate a project at its various stages.
  • Build rapport with all areas of the business, (sales, production, engineering etc.) creating a mutual respect that allows for easy/direct communication.
  • Meet with suppliers to develop improved relationships, processing, procedures, logistics, and lower cost solutions to specified projects.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in sales, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills/Competence

  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex technical concept
  • Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry and the ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Should be a strong team player and work well with others
  • Must have a good command of English, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel as required
