We're looking for a mission-driven Customer Service Clerk (SmartLife) who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Build strong, positive relationships with clients and seek insight into their unique needs and goals to better tailor solutions to their needs.
  • Help educate clients of the current accessible high-tech solutions that are the future and the present through hands-on/virtual demonstrations.
  • Help client complete purchases within the SmartLife Centre through the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Help educate clients in navigating our ecommerce site (www.cnibsmartlife.ca).
  • Respond to telephone calls and return messages.
  • Provide appropriate information to individuals in-person or by telephone.
  • Actively book appointments for further consultation with a SmartLife Coach
  • Triage and aid in troubleshooting defective products with clients.
  • Other duties as required, may include keyboarding/data entry, sending faxes or emails, tidy and/or restock area.
  • Track and report volunteer hours as directed.
  • Help ensure inventory is restocked appropriately within the SmartLife Centre.

Requirements

Who you are:
  • Experience in Customer Service/Sales an asset.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to relate effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external to CNIB.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and competence with standard computer tools associated with business and project management (MS Office suite).
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
Eligibility

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
