Tayco is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Production Supervisor to join our high performing production team. The Opportunity:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, motivating, and coaching production Team Members within our Packaging Department to ensure quality standards and production schedule objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner. Hours: 6:30am to 3:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a team of skilled individuals and work collaboratively with them.
  • Plan and establish daily work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet daily production targets.
  • Monitor productivity throughout the shift and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production specifications are met, and resources are used efficiently.
  • Oversee training and ensure all staff are adequately trained and cross-trained in various roles and responsibilities.
  • Prepare production reports on a timely basis and conduct daily report out meetings with the team.
  • Approve order requests and place orders for required materials and inventory.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WSIB protocols, and other health and safety regulations as necessary. Ensure all team members are working safely and following all health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to Tayco's Quality Management System, ISO 9001–2008, Lean Manufacturing and Environment, and policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in the hiring process for new team members. Monitor and assess employee performance. Proactively manage poor performance in accordance with the Collective Agreement and HR policies.
  • Identify deficiencies in product specification/application, component quality, system/BOM accuracy. Provide root cause analysis, implement and re-validate solutions.
  • Implement 5S initiatives.
  • Support Team Leaders and Team Members in the implementation of new products through regular meetings and training. Provide support to Team Members as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of secondary school diploma; ideally has a college diploma and/or a Supervisory Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Supervisor in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a furniture or store fixture environment is an asset.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of production experience or relevant experience working in a similar environment and position.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing operations and techniques including Lean, 5S, and ISO 9001- 2015.
  • Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ideally, knowledgeable of ERP/Database programs.
  • Experience of working in union environment would be an asset.
  • Ability to achieve results and perform work with energy and drive.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
