Meaningful Work

Imagine a world powered by everyone's full potential.

Picture everyone having fair access to higher education, enabled by admission processes that allow applicants to be seen for their full potential, including lived experiences, cultural influences, values, and soft skills.

In that world, higher education programs are also enabled with technology that streamlines complex operations and delivers analytics and insights that can increase student and program success.

That's what we're building at Acuity Insights.

Right now, we do it with our admissions assessment products (Casper & Duet), program management products (One45 & MSPE Builder), and our data integration platform (Analytics).

These products help schools discover, select, train, and graduate future doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, business leaders, and other professionals who reflect the diversity of our communities and bring skills like empathy, integrity, resiliency, and professionalism into the workforce.

Acuity Insights is at a new growth stage. Our roots are planted firmly in health sciences and medical education. We are exploring and expanding into engineering education, business schools, and other professional disciplines.

Opportunity & Impact

As a Senior Bilingual Operations Coordinator on the Casper Operations' Test Content team, you'll help support our most widely adopted product, the Casper test.

Casper is an online soft skills test used in the admissions process of hundreds of academic programs globally, including teacher's colleges, medical, business, and engineering schools. Over 140,000 applicants take the test every year.

The Test Content team oversees the unique aspects of our Casper Operations, including developing content from scenario ideas to test questions to reviewing, tagging, and publishing test content to assembling and assuring the quality of tests in our test-building application.

In this multi-faceted operations role, you will enable and facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external contractors, deliver French translation projects, own our test-building application, lead test-building and quality-assuring tests, and support in building and optimizing processes used during the content development and review phases of the production cycle.

Contractor Management

As a Senior Bilingual Operations Coordinator, you get to own and manage our pool of Quality Assurance and English-to-French Translation contractors.

You'll manage close to 20 contractors who support us with mission-critical work like French translation projects of applicant-facing content and ensuring the technical quality of tests and test content.

Your work involves building and nurturing positive relationships with the contractors, ensuring they are well-trained, feel engaged and supported, and paid on time.

You'll be a traffic light for incoming and outgoing contractor work. This includes directing and assigning work to contractors and ensuring the right people receive deliverables back and on time.

As demand for Casper grows, we may also need to increase our pool of readily available contractors. You get to lead that expansion, recruiting, and onboarding new contractors.

French-to-English Translation

In this role, you'll engage and coordinate larger translation projects with our Translation contractors, for example, larger content pieces or legal documents needing translation & review. You'll also help review Casper's French-language content, like French scenario ideas and scripts.

You get to own our internal French translation requests channel in this role, responding to our in-house translation requests. These might be anything from supporting the Product & Engineering team in translating a sentence or a page of text, adding or updating content on the applicant website, or participating in the interview process of our bilingual job applicants.

Test Building & Quality Assurance

As the Senior Operations Coordinator on the Casper Operations' Content team, you'll own and develop deep product knowledge of our internal test-building application and become a go-to expert on its features and functionalities. Your work here will also involve identifying opportunities to improve or add new features and collaborating with Product and Software Engineer teams to implement them.

You'll also contribute to building Casper tests by integrating French and English content into the Casper application applicants use to take the test. You also get to oversee quality assurance efforts by coordinating with our dedicated QA contractor pool, reviewing and channelling content and technical feedback to internal team members.

Process Building & Optimization Support

Joining right now is a chance to help build and streamline infrastructure and processes to support more Casper tests across more programs in more countries worldwide.

In your role, you'll identify bottlenecks and friction points and collaborate with our Process Optimization team to develop and implement solutions that remove them and create efficiencies in our processes, workflows and tech stack.

An example process optimization project includes simplifying assigning work to contractors, which currently use different systems and databases and can be prone to human error. Another improvement opportunity focuses on the training program for QA contractors, updating out-of-date training material and creating a more engaging and interactive experience for them. • Are data-driven, analyzing data and insights in your work to form opinions and make decisions.
  • Prefer working in deadline-driven environments, and show resilience under rapidly evolving or high-pressure conditions.
  • Excel at remote collaboration in tech-forward work environments and have used communication, collaboration, and productivity tools like Slack, Confluence, or Notion as part of your tech stack.

About Us

Acuity Insights is a Canadian company founded in 2014.

Our first product (Casper) was invented by Dr. Kelly Dore and Oncology Professor Harold Reiter to improve the admissions process at McMaster University's School of Medicine in Ontario. They recognized that traditional entrance exams and cover letters were biased and lacked insight into applicants' emotional intelligence and professionalism and built a test to assess those skills.

We acquired One45, a medical education software company, in 2021. The acquisition expanded our product line with two new products (One45 & Analytics) and doubled the size of our team.

Behind Acuity Insights today, you'll find a team of 130+ caring, curious, and driven individuals collaborating remotely across Canada and some international locations.

It's a team that actively fosters a culture and builds an environment where everyone feels included, respected, valued, and well-supported and has the energy to bring their full potential to work.

The presence and representation of a wide range of identities, backgrounds, and perspectives on our team is a strength. Our diversity fuels our ability to innovate, helps us build and evolve our market-leading products, contributes to a healthier work environment, and enables us to build a sustainable and capable organization to deliver the business outcomes we want.

We encourage individuals from non-traditional backgrounds or historically marginalized and underrepresented groups to explore and apply to our open roles.

Thanks for your interest in Acuity Insights as your potential new workplace!
