Bolloré Logistics is looking to add a full-time Transborder and U.S. Customs Specialist to its growing team in Canada! We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and grow your career.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Transborder and U.S. Customs Specialist is to direct and coordinate activities of the Transborder & Customs entry process, ensuring a fast courteous and efficient customer experience while maintaining a competitive cost structure.

  • Act as a resource person for the Bolloré network, U.S. customs, the suppliers and customer service (internally and externally) and ensure a high level of customer service is offered.
  • Suggest innovative solutions to clients and the Bolloré network.
  • Communicate the value of a customs broker to clients and new prospects.
  • Facilitate account setup processes, including providing basic quotes.
  • Create and submit quotations to customers while providing a U.S. customs consultation service.
  • Receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Verify the documents submitted by the customer to ensure compliance.
  • Stay informed with up-to-date knowledge of international trade agreements and preferential trade programs.
  • Understand all release types, in all modes of transportation.
  • Problem-solve release or trade compliance issues.
  • Classify goods according to US Customs regulations, determine applicable duties and taxes, and assess regulations that may also be subject by participating government agencies.
  • Develop and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Customs compliance manuals to ensure regulatory adherence and efficient internal processes.
  • Comply with the laws and regulations of the different governments and the ISO standards set out by the company.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies and guidelines.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant field; skills and experience will be considered
  • Customs release and Compliance : 5 years
  • Data analysis and accuracy
  • Client focused communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent judgment and initiative, detailed-oriented, organized
