Medical Office Administrator

WHO WE ARE

Our Health Centre is a non-profit community health centre serving the Municipality of the District of Chester and the Tancook Islands. Now approaching our tenth year, we operate a Same Day Clinic five days a week, along with specialty clinics including our new peri/menopause clinic, and programs that reach well beyond the exam room. Our programs and services are shaped by what our community members tell us they need.

We are small enough that every person here influences how care is delivered, and ambitious enough to keep testing new models to bring the best possible services and programming to our community. If you want your work to make a tangible difference in the community you live in and to help build something, this is where you want to be.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Medical Office Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administrative coordination of all clinical services, including the Same Day Clinic and associated programs. This is a front-facing role, working directly with the patients and community members who come through our doors. The Medical Office Administrator works alongside the administrative assistant, and there are regular shifts where this position is the only administrative staff member on site.

The role ensures efficient workflows, accurate medical records and billing, effective scheduling and coverage, and high-quality support for both physicians and community members. It carries a high degree of independence. We are looking for someone who works collaboratively within a small team, takes full ownership of their work, and takes pride in getting things right the first time.

Given the sensitive nature of clinical information and community interactions, this position requires the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, accuracy, and sound judgment.
