ONB is seeking an accomplished defence professional for a two-year contract to support the province's growing defence and security portfolio. The Senior Lead, Defence Investments will position New Brunswick as a credible partner within the national and global defence industry. Working with senior decision-makers, the Senior Lead will identify and advance investment opportunities that contribute to New Brunswick's economic growth, strengthen the province's defence sector, and support Canada's sovereignty objectives. Success in the role will depend on strong connections and an established network across Canada's defence ecosystem, with connections to organizations such as the Canadian Armed Forces, the Department of National Defence, the Defence Industrial Agency, and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

The Senior Lead will advise ONB's senior leadership on opportunities to strengthen and grow New Brunswick's defence industry. They will build and maintain collaborative relationships with military leaders, industry stakeholders, federal departments, and national defence organizations while using ONB's customer relationship management system to ensure visibility and coordination across opportunities and company accounts. The role will identify and develop opportunities in investment, procurement, innovation, supply chains, defence logistics, and in-service support that align with provincial priorities. The Senior Lead will also monitor emerging trends, legislation, and developments in the defence and security environment, assess their potential effects on ONB's operations and strategic objectives, and prepare reports and briefings for senior leadership.

The successful candidate has a relevant post-secondary degree and progressively responsible experience in the public or private sector, including at least 10 years in defence and security.They bring in-depth knowledge of the Canadian and global defence industry, including key organizations, supply chains, procurement processes, governance frameworks, and emerging market opportunities. They have an established network across industry, government, and the military, along with demonstrated experience engaging partners andadvancing business development opportunities. Effective advisory,influencing, consultation, and relationship-building skills are essential. The successful candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and focused on achieving results. Written and spoken competence in English is required. The role is based in New Brunswick and requires travel to Ottawa and other domestic and international locations, as well as occasional work outside regular business hours.
