What you will do:

Reporting to the Assistant Park Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering recreational and special event programming that enhances the visitor experience at Mount Carleton Provincial Park.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing inspiring seasonal activities for all ages that promote the Park's natural and cultural resource activities while respecting the NB Parks brand
  • Coordinating event logistics and delivery of experiences with supervisors and managers
  • Working with Tourism partners, community groups and local organizations
  • Maintaining relationships and liaising with the ministry's marketing and product innovation teams
  • Performing other tasks as required

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Tourism, Event Management, Outdoor Recreation, Education, Communications, Marketing, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience OR a Post-secondary Diploma in Recreation Management, Tourism, Event Management, Outdoor Recreation, Education, Communications, Marketing, or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years of experience
  • Experience in coordinating events, recreational programming, community engagement, or tourism-related activities
  • Strong event planning and organizational skills
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, trainingand experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:

Pay Band 3 - $2,098.00 to $2,932.00 biweekly

Work environment:

  • Office location: Mount Carleton Provincial Park
  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays, shifts and variable hours according to assigned schedule
  • Occasional travel throughout the province may be required
