JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent supports an interdisciplinary team within the child and youth services division in implementing the One-at-a-Time Therapy OAAT (Single-Session Therapy model) in accordance with the stepped care approach. They also provide clinical guidance and service coordination related to this initiative. They are responsible for delivering direct services to clients (children and adolescents) experiencing mental health and/or substance-use issues. Furthermore, they stay informed about various community resources and facilitate access to them for clients, their families, and their natural support networks. They ensure that professionals adhere to professional practice standards and current policies and procedures, while working closely with clinical coordinators and the program manager to ensure the model functions effectively. The role also encompasses assessment, treatment, supportive counselling, crisis intervention, case management, and prevention. Duties may expand based on initiatives planned by the Ministry of Health.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW);
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in mental health and/or addictions treatment with children/youth;
  • Relevant progressive professional experience demonstrating leadership skills;
  • Training in the stepped care model and the One-at-a-Time Therapy OAAT (Single-Session Therapy) model, or willingness to obtain such training within a set timeframe;
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), or willingness to obtain such training within a set timeframe;
  • Knowledge of computer software commonly used within the Network;
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with community networks;
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making ability;
  • Organizational and priority-setting skills;
  • Reliable clinical judgment and strong analytical reasoning;
  • Valid driver's licence and availability to travel within the zone;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
