We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance/Security Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety and security of our hotel. This position is responsible for ensuring the property, equipment and facilities are safe, functional and well maintained while supervising the Maintenance/Security team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and provide daily direction to Maintenance/Security staff.
• Perform regular property inspections and ensure repairs and preventative maintenance are completed.
• Coordinate basic plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, construction and equipment repairs. Specialized technical work is contracted when required.
• Plan and coordinate repairs, renovations, installations and construction projects.
• Respond quickly to maintenance and security emergencies.
• Manage contractors and outside service providers.
• Maintain the maintenance shop, parts, supplies and inventory.
• Review work orders and inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Prepare department schedules, budgets, forecasts, payroll and activity records.
• Recruit, train, coach and supervise department employees in accordance with company policies, the Collective Agreement and provincial labour standards.
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, WHMIS and hotel safety policies and procedures.
• Work closely with all hotel departments to support smooth operations and excellent guest service.
• Assist with departmental errands using the company vehicle as required.

Qualifications

• Previous building maintenance and repair experience, preferably in a large commercial property is considered an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of management and/or supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical systems and life-safety equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to remain calm and make sound decisions in busy or emergency situations.
• Good physical condition and ability to perform maintenance-related duties.
• Must be reliable, professional and dependable.
• Valid driver's licence required.

Schedule

This position is primarily Monday-Friday, with on-call responsibility every second weekend. As the hotel operates 24/7, occasional evenings, weekends and holidays may be required for emergencies, staffing issues or operational needs.
