Interested in technology, enterprise systems, and how organizations manage secure access to critical applications?
As an IT Operations & Access Management Co-op, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications and technology operations that help keep business systems running efficiently and securely across Nova Scotia Power.
During the Winter 2027 Co-op term, you'll work alongside experienced technology professionals supporting user access administration, application operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll gain exposure to enterprise platforms such as Oracle Fusion and ServiceNow, while developing valuable skills in access management, technology governance, process improvement, and stakeholder support.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Information Technology, Business Systems, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, Technology Operations, or Digital Transformation. You'll apply your technical and analytical skills to real business challenges while gaining practical experience in a large and complex technology environment.
What you'll do:
- Support user access provisioning and administration activities for enterprise systems and applications.
- Assist with role management, access governance, and security-related processes.
- Coordinate and support ServiceNow requests, incidents, and operational activities.
- Participate in user access reviews and compliance-related initiatives.
- Create and maintain process documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
- Support day-to-day application operations and technology support activities.
- Assist with reporting, metrics tracking, and data analysis to support decision-making and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with technology, security, and business teams to support project and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in technology projects and gain exposure to enterprise application management practices.
Who you are:
We're looking for a motivated student who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies, and supporting systems that enable business success. You will be a strong candidate if you:
- Are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Have an interest in technology operations, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, access management, or business systems.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Are comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Communicate effectively and can work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Learn new technologies, systems, and business processes quickly.
- Are organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work well independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Have previous co-op, internship, academic project, volunteer, or work experience related to technology, business systems, data analysis, or process improvement (considered an asset).
