Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide Auditory Verbal Therapy services to clients. Services are provided for infants, toddlers, and preschool/school aged children, who have hearing loss and use assistive technology (e.g. hearing aids, cochlear implant(s) and also adults who use assistive technology. As the service mandate is provincial, some travel is required. This position reports to the Manager of Audiology, Eastern Zone.

Occasionally moves objects and equipment up to 25 lbs.
Regularly stands or sits to test clients, bends or may be in awkward positions to work in close proximity with a child or clients with limited mobility, or may bend, kneel or crouch when assisting with hearing device insertion/removal.
Regularly requires a higher-than-normal levels of attentiveness when assessing or treating clients of all ages. Time pressures to get assessments and referrals and documentation completed in very tight timelines.
Job Qualifications
Graduation with a Masters degree in Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology or Education of the Hearing Impaired from an approved/recognized program.
Current certification as an Auditory-Verbal Therapist is required. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
For Audiology and Speech Language Pathology applicants, current registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
