ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services – Western Zone invites applications for a permanent full-time Respirologist at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory medicine services to patients across the Western Zone, working within a collaborative and well-supported interdisciplinary team. The position includes both inpatient and outpatient respiratory medicine care, with on-call coverage shared equitably among the physician group.
Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art acute care facility that opened in June 2024. The hospital serves as a 164-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland, delivering a broad range of secondary and select tertiary services to a population of approximately 80,000 residents.
NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and academic interests are encouraged and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Respirology (or equivalent)
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Subspecialty training or interest considered an asset
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient Respirology services
- Conduct clinical assessments and provide medical oversight for patients with complex respiratory conditions
- Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopies, and other respiratory diagnostic procedures as applicable
- Participate in on-call coverage shared equitably among the Respirology physician group
- Deliver consultations to referring physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Contribute to teaching and training of medical learners through the Memorial University affiliation
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
As per Memorandum of Agreement
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador, commensurate with level of training and experience.
