About the Role

NLHS Digital Health is seeking an IT Operations Business Continuity Planner — a senior individual contributor reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology. This is a strategic planning and program governance role that shapes how the Digital Health IT division plans, governs, and continuously improves its work across our CorCare (Epic) Health Information System, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, ServiceNow, and on-premises IT portfolio.

The primary focus of this role is CorCare. You will serve as NLHS's organizational program owner for CorCare business continuity planning and readiness — establishing the governance framework, maintaining our compliance posture against Epic's Honor Roll and Good Maintenance Grant program, and ensuring the right people are doing the right work to keep clinical systems available 24/7. This role does not perform technical execution; it provides the program oversight, coordination, and strategic direction that enables our technical teams to execute with precision.

Beyond CorCare, you will lead divisional strategic planning and portfolio coordination for the Director, oversee vendor and contract stewardship, provide financial oversight support, and drive continuous improvement across how the division operates.

You Will Be Responsible For:

CorCare Business Continuity Program Ownership

  • Owning and governing the NLHS CorCare business continuity planning program — defining the program framework, setting readiness standards, assigning accountabilities across technical and operational teams, and reporting program health to the Director and organizational leadership.
  • Maintaining NLHS's compliance posture against the Epic Business Continuity Best Practices Checklist and Honor Roll / Good Maintenance Grant requirements; coordinating CorCare's annual Business Continuity Review with Epic; escalating gaps with recommended remediation plans.
  • Establishing and maintaining the annual BCA planning calendar — scheduling downtime drills, tabletop exercises, technical dress rehearsals (TDRs), and validation activities in coordination with the Senior Coordinator, CorCare Environment & Release Management and clinical operational leaders.
  • Owning the CorCare downtime communication strategy and stakeholder readiness framework; ensuring clinical leaders, end users, and IT teams understand their roles and responsibilities during downtime and recovery.
  • Coordinating governance of Extended Outage and ransomware readiness requirements — ensuring infrastructure playbooks, clinical backfill plans, census reconciliation plans, and revenue recovery plans are owned, current, and exercised.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between NLHS and Epic for business continuity program governance; coordinating Epic Technical Services engagements and BC Review follow-through.

CorCare Operational Planning & Governance

  • Maintaining an integrated view of the CorCare operational environment — environment health, upgrade timelines, release readiness, Honor Roll compliance status, and open risks — for the Director and governance bodies.
  • Coordinating the CorCare upgrade and release planning calendar with the Senior Coordinator, CorCare Environment & Release Management; ensuring cross-team workstreams, dependencies, and communications are sequenced from planning through execution.
  • Coordinating CorCare governance activities including CAB planning cycles, release authorization milestones, and cross-team readiness for major events.
  • Monitoring and synthesizing ServiceNow incidents, open issues, and emerging risks into clear escalation briefings for the Director; preparing reporting materials for steering committees and clinical leadership.

Divisional Strategic Planning & Portfolio Coordination

  • Developing and maintaining the Digital Health IT division's integrated operational plan — translating the Director's priorities into sequenced, resourced, and measurable work across the management team.
  • Maintaining the division's portfolio tracker across all workstreams; preparing strategic briefings, SBAR summaries, and executive materials for the Director.
  • Leading divisional continuous improvement — identifying process gaps, developing SOPs and runbooks, and delivering measurable improvements across how the division plans and executes.

Divisional Business Operations

  • Maintaining the divisional contract portfolio — tracking SOW deliverables, vendor obligations, renewal timelines, and SLA performance for IT infrastructure vendors.
  • Providing financial stewardship support: tracking expenditures, supporting budget forecasting and capital planning, and coordinating procurement in alignment with NLHS financial policy.
  • Ensuring governance documentation, compliance records, and audit readiness posture — including ATTIPA and PHI obligations — are maintained across the divisional portfolio.

About You

Your education and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in healthcare IT operations, business planning, or program governance in a complex technology or healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or coordinating large-scale IT programs across multiple teams, with accountability for governance, compliance tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Experience with contract management, procurement, and financial tracking in a public sector or regulated environment is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Planner) is required.
  • Willingness to acquire Epic certification; prerequisites, participate in Epic training/education sessions, complete self-assessments and successfully challenge the certification exam is required.

Key technical experience considered an asset:

  • Experience with Epic HIS or CorCare — particularly in business continuity planning, governance coordination, or upgrade management.
  • Familiarity with Epic's Business Continuity Access (BCA) framework, Honor Roll requirements, or the Epic Business Continuity Best Practices Checklist.
  • Experience with IT governance frameworks (ITIL, CAB, or equivalent).
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent planning designation.
  • Familiarity with PHI/ATTIPA compliance obligations in a regulated healthcare IT environment.

You have the following skills and abilities:

  • Strategic planning and analytical judgement: synthesizes complex, multi-source information into coherent plans and decision-ready recommendations for a Director-level leader.
  • Program ownership and accountability: establishes governance frameworks, assigns accountabilities, tracks compliance, and drives outcomes through coordination and influence rather than direct execution.
  • Operational resilience: maintains precision and momentum in a 24/7 healthcare IT environment where system incidents, release pressures, and competing priorities are routine.
  • Exceptional written communication: independently produces executive briefings, plans, governance documentation, and stakeholder communications to a consistently high standard.
  • Collaborative organizational influence: coordinates and leads across teams without formal authority, building trusted relationships across IT, clinical informatics, operations, finance, and vendor communities.
  • Sound judgement and professional discretion in a regulated, confidential healthcare environment.

Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.

*A valid passport and willingness to travel internationally is a requirement.

We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
